Buba: I was born in The Gambia, West Africa and grew up in a farming family. At a very young age I developed a keen interest in music and started playing the drums. I have spent many years playing different forms of West African drumming including bourgarabou which I enjoy the most. I started making art work about 10 years ago and haven't stopped since. I like to re-use the things I can find around me. So I tend to use the back of cereal packs for my canvas and mix my own colours from the things I eat or berries/leaves that I collect. My paint brushes are made from bamboo sticks I cut and carve myself.
